If you're anything like me, I've been sitting on the floor doing my makeup in front of my wardrobe mirror for years.
I use to spend a lot of time perfecting my make up routine. Now that I’m a mum and time is of the essence, I wanted to create a space where I could place all my make up products for a quicker and easier routine.
I don’t have a lot of make up, I do however- purchase make up of a higher quality and just opt for the basics.
I’ve custom made this ‘Beauty bar’ for under $130 and kept it pretty minimal using a small stool, piece of ply, 2 legs, VJ board, hooks, wall light and a mirror.
I wanted something simple, stylish and most of all ‘budget friendly’.
We had some dead space in our master bedroom which I convinced the husband to let me have for my Beauty bar.
So, I purchased and painted the VJ board in Taubmans Miss Universe and with my dads help he cut it down to size (and the ply as well). We then screwed the legs to the ply,
he made a small cleat for the shelf, we then installed the VJ above.
I also opted for an Ikea plug in wall light, so we didn’t require an electrician.
Once the mirror, hooks and wall light were up, I then dressed it with my go to products and accessories.
