This month we are happy to “introduce” you to the gorgeous Emma-Rose/Em-Rose/Em of @emmarosedesign .  Interior stylist and qualified colour consultant with an insta feed dripping in modern boho styling, her use of texture, colour and layering is sure to impress.
Here’s what Em had to say:
My style is:
I like a mix of styles. I tend to blend a few together, as my style is forever growing and taste is forever changing. I would say my style is a mix of Boho/Palm springs/Aztec is that even a thing? Ha-ha. I guess design/style can be whatever you make it!
I find inspiration:
In my day to day life- Tv shows, Magazines, Pinterest, Instagram even down to Product labels and packaging.  My brain is forever taking everything in and thinking… what can I make, renovate or change up next.
I use colour to:
Add life to a space, there’s so many beautiful colour combos out there. I love seeing people’s personality come out through colour in their homes. Colour makes me happy.
Form or Function.  Why?:
Ahhh the great debate!
I would have to say, I’m most probably more of a ‘Form over function’ kinda gal. Here’s a little example for you-  Even to my husband’s disgust- I would much prefer an empty pretty basket on a shelf that looks good, over a clock that my husband would actually use. And why… because I love pretty things, and want the home to look like a display home ha-ha. Sorry husband, and thank you for putting up with me.
Styling advice I live by:
You can never have too many plants! A bit of texture can completely transform a room i.e- rugs, cushions, throws. It’s okay to experiment with colour.
Top home styling tips:
You don’t have to do what everyone else is doing. It’s okay to let your creative differences go wild!
Top tips for buying the perfect rug:
Be sure to measure the space first. The most common mistake when buying a rug is that people go too small. If it’s a high traffic area for example the dining room, kitchen or lounge, look for longevity by choosing something with a bit of a pattern or two tone. If you’re looking for a rug to complete your bedroom or study (which is less of a traffic area) I find opting for a lighter option works well in these spaces.
What is your go to Six Fourteen Rug?:
It’s very hard to choose, but I love the Mullumbimby range. Such a large variety of colours and sizes, which would suit any space.
